2018 BAW Workshop Descriptions-Drilling Down on Our Benefits

General Session 101

You have many tools available for educating your employees on their PEBA benefits, and the 2018 conference is here to make sure you’re up to speed on all the latest resources. This introductory class will hammer out the health and wellness opportunities you can use to mitigate increasing healthcare costs. We’ll also take a closer look at the peba:connect project to combine insurance and retirement functions into a single core operating system, and how your organization can prepare for its launch in coming years.

Retirement 101

Many employees don’t know specifics about their retirement – what they will need or how they will save, with or without a pension. Many employees aren’t even thinking about it. We’ll examine the PEBA retirement awareness materials in your toolbox, which can help everyone from early- and mid-career employees to those nearing the end of their careers and making final decisions for retirement.

Insurance 101

This workshop will explore any 2019 changes for the State Health Plan as well as critical open enrollment information. It will also shine a light on the National Medical Support Program and the duties it creates for benefits administrators.

PEBA’s Power Tools

Get your tool belt ready! We don’t have enough time to talk about all of our tools in the other workshops so we crammed this one full of the best employer and employee materials PEBA has to offer. In this course, we aim to help you better organize your workbench and make us all more effective at what we do.

Please note that all workshop topics are subject to change before the conference.
