Retirement employer training is a comprehensive one and one-half day class on retirement benefits for benefits administrators and other personnel. Our Field Services team conducts this training in small, informal sessions that encourage participation and welcome any questions or comments. Day one begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m. Day two begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m.

Day one of training includes an introduction to the PEBA-administered retirement systems, membership and enrollment, payroll reporting, service purchase, and a brief overview of the S.C. Deferred Compensation Program. Day two of training includes the retirement process, leaving covered employment (refunds), death claims, and the Electronic Employer Services (EES) website.

You will need to provide your own training materials. The seven presentations (from Introduction to Death claims) are available below. The Covered Employer Procedures Manual is also available, but is not required for the class. For more information, email Field Services.
